Our outreach programmes deliver positive impacts in the local communities in which we operate, leaving a sustainable legacy that continues to benefit the community long after the projects end.
By partnering with and commissioning local voluntary and community sector (VCS) organisations, we invest much-needed funding into local communities. In addition we have provided grant funding to hundreds of smaller local organisations and groups to help them reach as many people in the community as possible.
Our outreach approach supports employment for people in the local voluntary organisations, which often continues beyond the end of the project. It also gives people the opportunity to build their skills through volunteering. You can read more about our work with volunteers in the CSV Report on Social Enterprise.
Our approach encourages the development of strong networks between VCS organisations, which benefits the organisations themselves and the people who rely on them.

We provide high-quality, bespoke reporting systems which ensure detailed feedback on the reach and impact of the programme, enabling you to demonstrate the extent and success of the programmes and value for money. Our online monitoring system captures real-time reporting on our performance, allowing you to view our progress and measure results.
DOL is rooted within the voluntary and community sector. To strengthen our links even further we created an Advisory Group which ensures the full and fair engagement of local, regional and national charities and third sector networks.
