Dianne M Jeffrey, Age UK

Chair

As well as being Chair of Digital Outreach, Dianne Jeffrey is also Pro-Chancellor and Chair of Governing Council, University of Derby, Chairman of Age UK (the new force combining Age Concern and Help the Aged), a member of Heritage Lottery Fund East Midlands Regional Committee, and Board member of University and Colleges Employers’ Association. 

Dianne served as an NHS Trust chairman for 13 years, and chairman of the NHS Confederation from 2000 to 2003. She also chaired Anchor Trust, England’s largest provider of housing care and support to older people. She was appointed High Sheriff of Derbyshire in 2002/2003 and is now a Deputy Lieutenant of the County of Derbyshire. Dianne’s appointment as Hon Colonel, Derbyshire Army Cadet Force (Mercian Regiment) was approved by HM The Queen in 2003. 

Born and brought up in Sheffield, Dianne went to Badminton School, Bristol and Sheffield University. She has worked in clinical and industrial psychology and has extensive experience in management training in the retail sector.
